Episode 161: Smoking During Pregnancy (Epilogue)

Tonight, Laura and Ryan told you about the number one modifiable risk factor in pregnancy: smoking. Nicotine – whether from tobacco or e-cigarettes – constricts blood vessels, which reduces the amount of oxygen and nutrients delivered to the developing fetus. We spoke to Jeanette Robinson, Tobacco Program Manager for the Florida Dept. of Health in Sarasota about the risks of tobacco smoke and ways to quit smoking. Next, Shavon Clark and Chip Schaaff share how the Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota is helping women quit.
