Episode 133: Spring Membership Drive (And a SURPRISE Birth!)

Join the Conversation tonight, Tuesday May 6th at 6pm as Laura and Dana continue the Maternally Yours tradition of sharing birth stories during our membership drives with a WILD ONE: the story of a Sarasota woman who did not know she was pregnant until giving birth to her healthy, 7.5 pound baby! WHAT???!!!! You DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS ONE.

Tonight we will ask for your support. WSLR gave us a voice in October 2011 that we work hard to keep strong. We need financial contributions from our listeners and guests to pay for the equipment and studio space that we need to produce this show.

This episode will coincide with this year's 24 hour Giving Challenge. This unique opportunity allows your contributions to WSLR to have the potential to be MATCHED by some generous Foundations in our community.

There are THREE WAYS TO GIVE:

1. Call us on the air on Tuesday, May 6th from 6pm to 7pm at (941) 954-8636 or (941) 894-6469 and pledge your support for our program and our station. This support can be in any amount and you can choose whether or not to participate in the Giving Challenge.

2. Between noon today and noon tomorrow, visit The Giving Challenge website and search for WSLR. Make a pledge of $25 or more and even after matching funds are gone, your donation still offers us the opportunity for incentives, bonus funds and other prizes.

3. Visit the WSLR website and make a secure donation directly to the station. Be sure to select one of our stellar thank you gifts!

We will not stop putting our hearts and souls into this work. But we can't do it without you.

Maternally Yours,
Laura, Ryan and Dana

Episode 107: Fall Membership Drive

Join the entire Maternally Yours Collective Tuesday October 15th at 6pm ET for our wild and crazy fall membership drive spectacular! We will be joined by local moms Jessica Falde and Angie and Christin Perkinson who will help us continue our membership drive tradition of sharing birth stories. (And these are some wild ones!)

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.

Between the four of us, it takes about 60 hours of hard work to produce a month of content for Maternally Yours. We are volunteers--paid by spiritual fulfillment and not by U.S. currency. However we do ask that you support our station, because without their building, electricity, station manager, tower, signal, soundboard, microphones, computers, equipment, and LPFM license--we would not be here. Those things all take money to maintain, and unlike NPR stations, we don't get a penny from the government, it is 100% from YOU.
So if you like our show and want to see it continue, please call us Tuesday night between 6 and 7 at (941) 954-8636, or go online (it's not too early) at www.wslr.org and be sure to write Maternally Yours in your notes.

Community Radio allows us to connect YOU with the people and resources you need to make informed decisions throughout your childbearing years.

WHAT A GIFT.

Now it's your turn!
Please call in TUESDAY NIGHT to support our show, and community radio! You can pledge your support during the show in any amount by calling (941) 894-6469 or (941) 954-8636. You can also make your pledge now or any time this week at wslr.org

After you've supported us, SHARE your good deed on facebook and twitter so people know that you support independent media, informed consumerism and evidence-based maternity care.

Some of you already have pledged your support. We will issue our official love list after the show, but one listener got us all choked up. She donated "$107 for the 107 episodes of Maternally Yours. Not much $ but what I can give. Thank you ladies for changing my life as a mother and bettering my child and future children's lives."

You all keep us going, it's as simple as that. THANK YOU.

Gratefully and Maternally Yours,
Cheryl, Carmela, Ryan and Laura

Episode 75: DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE!

Just LOOK at Phoebe and Scarlett here, reminding us that if there is anything better than one precious gift--it's TWO!!

On Tuesday March 5, at 7:00am ET on the nose, the 36 Hour Giving Challenge kicks off. We will be waiting at our computers with our coffee in hand, ready to put our money where our mouths are and support WSLR. Can we ask you to do the same?

All donations between $25 and $1000 have the opportunity to be DOUBLED. We are participating in this Challenge during our regular Spring Membership Drive so that we don't have to ask you again for money this Spring to keep our station going! SO CLICK HERE as close to 7am as you can and help us keep The Conversation going and create real maternity care reform in our own community! We'd love to hear from you tonight on the air as well--to THANK YOU for supporting independent media, WSLR, and Maternally Yours! Call us at (941) 894-6469 tonight at 6pm!

Then tune in TONIGHT at 6pm ET as the entire Collective welcomes Wonder Woman Mallie Shirk, to tell us the birth stories of these two insanely adorable babies, Phoebe and Scarlett. Where else will you hear a birth story that includes four states, two older brothers, and a double breech twin waterbirth?

It is our HONOR and PRIVILEGE to donate our time each week to bringing you inspiring stories, groundbreaking maternity care news, inspiring discussions, and change-making guests. We, like every other program on WSLR, are driven not by money or advertising, but by people and passion.
