This week, Laura and Ryan spoke to David Figlio of Northwestern University, Julia Chinyere Oparah of Mills College, British midwife Lizzie Norton, and Farah Diaz-Tello about birth in the news!
We learned about David's research regarding the connection between gestational weight and intelligence. Julia told us about Black Women Birthing Justice and its latest project, a collection of stories about childbirth. Farah facilitated a lightning round of birth in the news, including reproductive and women's rights in Texas. Finally, Lizzie told us about the midwife strike in the UK.
